I decided to go Italian in the prep. Some don’t like the Omega Pro 48 (10048) for face lathering, but I’ve never found it a problem and I enjoy the feel of the brush. Virgilio Valobra makes a soft bar of shaving soap in the traditional almond fragrance, which I pressed into this container. No trouble at all in loading the brush, and I got a wonderful lather.
The stringbag slant—and I now know that it is a slant—did a really excellent job. In a post yesterday stringbag explained more about the razor. I have to say that I think this razor would work well even for the utter novice: it is so comfortable, with a head designed not to bite (but still extremely efficient) that a novice could safely use it. Three passes, perfect BBS result, and a good splash of Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square finished the shave in fine style.
