That’s the Reddit Wicked_Edge brush, but it’s turned with the Snoo in back. Apologies. I wet the knot before I showered, and after worked up an excellent lather from Red-Label Vitos shaving soap—quite an economical soap, which you can buy in 1 kg packages—actually, I think it’s sold as a 1-liter package, but its much the same.
Three extremely comfortable passes with the iKon open comb holding a relatively fresh Swedish Gillette blade. Really a superb shave. I don’t like to keep saying, “BBS,” but that’s what it was.
I mean to use this aftershave balm from AlsShaving.com when I used the soap, but so it goes. It’s a white cream, quite stiff, and comes even with the edge of the tub. I brushed my fingertips over the surface and picked up enough to use. I really like this stuff. I’m not a balm guy, mostly, because balms feel sort of moist/wet on my face immediately after application—come to think of it, so does a splash, but—as people like to say when caught in an inconsistency—that’s different. Partly the difference is that, because of the splash’s alcohol content, it dries rapidly and I can feel it drying.
This balm felt good when I applied it, but then my face was a little moist for about 3-4 minutes. Then it was dry and extremely smooth: the “balm feeling” is gone because the balm has been absorbed and/or dried, and I like the effect.
The fragrance is light—I could not really identify it—but pleasant, and I estimate a tub of this in regular use would last a couple of years: you need only a tiny amount.
