Once again a great lather. I’m beginning to realize I really like the feel and performance of Crown King soaps. This one has the tobacco-flower fragrance familiar from Alt-Innsbruck aftershave and Tcheon Fung Sing’s Tobacco Verde shaving soap, but a little more present. I used the Maggard 24mm synthetic shown—an excellent brush, though I personally prefer the 22mm size—and enjoyed the lathering immensely.
The 102 is a no-fuss, no-problem stubble remover par excellence: totally comfortable, extremely efficient, and (as Craig put it) with no-drama blade loading. (Some of the twisted-blade slants are finicky about blade alignment. The 102 is load and go.)
The Crown Kiing balm formula is really excellent. Just a dot does it, and the balm quickly is absorbed and/or dries, leaving your face smooth and pleasant to the touch. And the fragrance is one that I like.
