I have two of WSP’s Prince, and this one is more resilient, with less give. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s not so soft as the three-band Prince.
It had no problem at all in getting a very nice lather from Chiseled Face Sherlock shaving soap, whose fragrance he describes as “a warm tobacco based scent blended with toasted caramel, black pepper, moist dirt, and finished with a touch of leather, moss, mandarin, honey and rose..” And the ingredients are good, too:
Stearic Acid, Aloe Vera Juice, Beef Tallow, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Glycerin, Fragrance, Mango Butter, Avocado Oil, Silk Powder
I have to say I like the Fatip Testina Gentile very much. Google Translate englishes that as “Nice Head,” and I have to agree: it’s a very nice head, both extremely comfortable and very efficient. Plus the plated brass construction gives the razor excellent heft and a feeling of solidity. (The Testina Gentile is also available with wood handles, and the model I have also comes in gold and gunmetal finishes.) It’s a terrific razor, for novice and not.
A good splash of Phoenix Artisan Cavendish to carry forward the tobacco them, and I wish you all a happy Valentine’s Day.
