Omega Mixed Midget, Meißner Tremonia Lavender de Luxe, iKon 102, and Barrister & Mann Reserve Lavender

This little Omega Mixed Midget (aka the 11047) is a wonderful little brush besides its diminutive nature (both size and price). The mix in question is a mix of boar and badger, and it works like a charm. Wet the knot well and let it sit a while (because of the boar), then rewet it to warm it up again, shake it out, and have at the puck. It really is nice: generates lather easily and has great capacity. The knot is somewhat larger than the Wee Scot, and is more like a regular brush in feel and capacity. I need to use this guy more often. (That’s the bane of too many brushes and too many soaps: you don’t get around to them all often enough. God knows how Solomon handled 1000 wives and concubines—he must have not seen some of them for years.)

With the wonderful lather, I picked a wonderful razor, the iKon 102. I think I’m going to do another pass through the razors, selling more—but the 102 will never be sold.

Three passes, no problems, perfect smoothness, and then a splash of sample aftershave Barrister & Mann sent: Reserve Lavender. I think he’s still tinkering with the formulation, since it is not up on his site, but it’s very nice and I’m tempted to buy a bottle when it becomes available—except that I have the same problem of overabundance in aftershaves as I do in razors, brushes, and soaps. Shaving creams, though: I have those pretty well under control.

A great shave for a new day.
