Extremely good shave today. The title is because I sometimes have found that my La Toja soap’s lather lacked sufficient creaminess. So today I loaded the brush at length—somewhat beyond where I would usually stop. I worked the lather up on my face, adding a little water, and the result was extremely good: thick, protective lather (with a very nice fragrance, I might add). The brush is a Wet Shaving Products Prince, and as you see it’s the three-band model: the two-band is somewhat stiff for my taste.
The long-tooth Gillette NEW (though now over 80 years old) did a very fine job with a Personna Lab Blue blade. Three passes to BBS, and a good splash of La Toja aftershave, which is extremely nice.
In the foreground is a truncated cone cut from the bark of a cork oak. The surface shown (the bottom side of the plug) is the exterior of the bark.
