The brush handle is, I’m told, snakewood, and the knot is quite soft, but it easily created a thick and creamy (and fragrant: “Tobacco, Oakwood, Vanilla, Animilac Musk, Labdanum, Rose, and dried leaves”)) lather from Phoenix Artisan’s Briar shaving soap, which unfortunately seems to be now unavailable.
My RazoRock Mamba did a very fine job. For me this razor is highly efficient and three passes left a smooth face, ready for a good splash of Geo. F. Trumper’s Spanish Leather aftershave.
Fine start to the day. And 1 lb of beef tendon is already slowly cooking in a 200ºF oven.
