A citrus shave

Meißner Tremonia’s Pink Grapefruit shaving paste has a terrific fragrance—no sweetness to it, the eucalyptus changing the grapefruit character considerably. I wondered whether the paste contains clay, as do the MT soaps, so I checked the ingredients:

Aqua, Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera oil*, Glycerin*, Potassium Hydroxide, Orbignya Oleifera oil*, Sodium Hydroxide, Macadamia terifolia oil, Talc, Kaolin, Citrus Paradisi oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf oil, Cananga Odorata oil, Citric Acid, Simmondsia chinensis oil*, Maris sal, C. I. 77007, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate .

* organic

There it is: Kaolin. But there was no trouble at all in loading the G.B. Kent Infinity brush—though, come to think of it, I did have to add just a little water as I loaded.

The resulting lather was excellent, and my Dorco PL602 did its usual superb job. Let me once again recommend you try this razor. Check eBay for best price.

A splash of Royall Mandarin finished the job, and I’m back shaving on Saturdays and skipping Sunday. It feels right.
