Around a week ago a reader commented that it was hard to find lemon-scented shaving soaps and aftershaves. I did once have an Art of Shaving shaving soap that had a lemon fragrance, but it left in one of the soap purges. However, I do have a 1-lb tub of J.M. Fraser’s excellent shaving cream, which does indeed have a lemon fragrance and does a fine job—and it offers great shaves at a low cost: $17 for the 1-lb tub, and currently with free shipping.
My Rooney Victorian made an excellent lather, and with Fendrihan’s Mk II, a fine stainless steel razor, my face was smooth in three passes. This razor is both very comfortable and very efficient (and is the result of lessons learned in making their first stainless razor, I imagine: versions 2.0 tend in general to be an improvement on version 1.0).
A splash of Myrsol’s Agua de Limon finished the shave with a lemon fragrance, and now the weekend begins.
