My vintage (pre-Vulfix) Simpson Emperor is a wonderful brush, and it created a fine lather from my vintage (pre-reformulation) Floris No. 89 shaving soap. Continuing the vintage them, my 1940s Gillette Aristocrat did a superb job: very comfortable, very efficient. A splash of Floris No. 89 aftershave and the day is launched.
