This Mühle Gen 2 synthetic is not all that coarse, though coarse compared to a synthetic of the Plissoft variety. This brush feels on the face very like a silvertip badger brush, which I believe was the goal.
Yesterday’s Chiseled Face soap was Sherlock, and a commenter noted its unusual fragrance profile. Summer Storm offers another unusual fragrance whose dominanat note is petrichor. The fragrance is described by the maker as: “Moist earth, oak moss, cut grass, pine needles, orange, lemon, ozone, white jasmine, lily of the valley, geranium and musk.”
Chiseled Face seems to like unusual fragrances. One of his standard offerings is Midnight Stag: “Russian Leather, Motor Oil, Hoppes #9, Birch Tar, Oakmoss, Gasoline, Smoke, Cedar, Cade, Bergamot, Vanilla.”
His soaps (and many others, including Barrister & Mann (including Reserve), Dr. Jon’s, Wholly Kaw, Stirling, Phoenix Artisan (including CK-6), Declaration Grooming (including Milksteak), and quite a few others) are available in Canada from Top of the Chain.
Three passes with RazoRock’s Mamba did the job, and a splash of Summer Storm aftershave finished the job. The hint of menthol in the aftershave seems just right for the sudden coolness of a summer thunderstorm.
Have a happy (and safe) Independence Day.
