I came across a mention of Tcheon Fung Sing shaving soap, made (as the name suggests) in Italy. Several of their soaps and shaving creams are shown on this page. I quickly got a good lather with the Ecotools Kabuki. It has a light fragrance and nice lather, but really nothing more than any of the artisanal soaps I like, and on the whole I prefer to direct my purchases toward individual entrepreneurs and artisans.
UPDATE: I’m embarrassed: it is an artisanal soap. A good shaving soap, as I noted, and with the added appeal of an individual soapmaker.
Still: a good lather and a very pleasant BBS shave using the Weber DLC head on the UFO handle. Blade was a Gillette 7 O’Clock SharpEdge.
Krampert’s Bay Rum is interesting. It’s one that you shake well before use, and although it’s a splash it also seems to be somewhat moisturizing. Has anyone else experienced this?
