Very fine shave today. Dr. Selby’s is a terrific shaving cream, and with the Simpson Emperor 3 Super the lather was extremely pleasant. Three passes with the ARC Weber holding an Astra Keramik Platinum blade, finishing with a splash of Lavanda, and I am set.
I got to thinking what it would have been like to know how to shave when I first started—or telling guys in my high school in 1956 the idea of a three-pass shave, which I feel fairly sure none of us knew about. Of course, since we didn’t even talk about shaving, they may have all been shaving experts except for me, but I believe the level of ignorance was pretty general. Telling them to apply lather before every pass, and to do three passes (WTG, XTG, and ATG) may have had some interesting results. But no one knew, so we just bumbled along.
I’m definitely better yet again: no residual muscle soreness at all, for example. Still, I don’t think I’ll experience a sudden jump in well-being: just continuing gradual improvement. But I would say this one’s over, and it took a week.
