I’ve been eating a lot of avocado lately, so I thought an avocado shave was in order. Phoenix Artisan’s Green Ray shaving brush has a knot quite similar (except in color) to the knot of the Solar Flare I used yesterday, though perhaps the bristles are not quite so fine. Avo Nice Shave is a Kokum Butter formula, like yesterday’s Solstice (though obviously with quite a different fragrance). Once again the almost dry brush started to load immediately, and again a single addition of water was sufficient to complete the loading.
As I worked up the lather on my face, I did add one more dollop of water, but I could have proceeded without it. Still, it did expand the lather volume a bit without undermining its excellent consistency.
Every Baili razor I’ve used has been excellent, and their BD197, which Italian Barber sells as the Adjust, is a superb adjustable razor. I use it at the default setting, and it is extremely comfortable while also being extremely efficient — a perfectly smooth result this morning after 3 passes.
A splash of Avo Nice Shave aftershave, balmified with a couple of squirts of Hydrating Gel, and a relatively clear day begins.
