I had planned to use Solstice for the Equinox shave, there being a strange lack of shaving soaps named for celestial phenomena: no Equinox, no Solar Eclipse or Luna Eclipse, no Supernova, no Galaxy, no Black Hole (though I think I understand why that one’s unavailable). So I make do with Solstice, a shaving soap that you already know I like a lot, but I missed the window — this time.
I did use my Solar Flare brush, so there’s that: another celestial phenomenon honored.
A wonderful lather with the heady fragrance Solstice offers, and then three three passes with the wonderful iKon Shavecraft #102 slant, one of my all-time favorite slants, followed by a splash of Solstice aftershave to carry the fragrance forward into the day.
The tea this morning is a blend: Murchie’s Editor’s Blend, “a rich and smooth blend of black teas: Ceylon adds depth and a brisk sparkling finish, Yunnan provides smoothness and sweetness, and Keemun ties it together.” It’s an extremely nice cuppa.
