I enjoyed yesterday’s soap and thought today I’d reprise the experience with a different fragrance, but stick with a soft knot. The Fine Accoutrements Classic is a nice brush indeed. It has a 22mm synthetic knot with a good loft, so it feels gentle on the face, and — with soft water, at least — it is easy to load. I added a little water twice during loading so that I could fill the knot with soap, and then a little more water as I worked up the lather on my face. The fragrance came across clearly to me this morning, and it is wonderful.
Three passes with Fine’s Marvel razor head, here on a bronze handle by UFO, and then a splash of Floris JF (augmented with a couple of squirts of shaving gel), and the weekend begins on a pleasant note (and smooth face).
The tea this morning is Murchie’s Black Currant, whose appearance is as appealing as the taste — although, once the 4 ounces I have are gone, I don’t think I’ll replace it because I like to avoid artificial ingredients.
Ingredients: Black tea, dried blueberries, artificial flavouring, cornflower petals.
I assume that the blue bits are the cornflower petals and that the black currant flavor is the artificial flavor since the tea contains no black currants. (Black currants are not the same as blueberries.)
Still, it does taste good, and if you are not put off by artificial ingredients, it’s a pleasant tea:
A blend of rich, smooth black teas enhanced with the zesty essence of black currants.
Comforting in winter and delicious as an iced tea in summer.
A favourite for decades. Murchie’s has combined the deep fruity tones of succulent black currants with a smooth and subtle black tea finish to create a mouth watering, refreshing cup of tea.
Dried currants and blue cornflower are added to the sweet smelling tea blend to add to the allure of this fabulous tea.
