D.R. Harris Rose and the Adjust

Edwin Jagger shaving brush with ivory-colored hand and synthetic knot stands next to a grey tube of shaving cream. Next is a transparent bottle of D.R. Harris Pink After Shave. In front is a DE razor with a long handle.

This Edwin Jagger brush has a good synthetic knot which easily generated a rich lather from D.R. Harris Rose shaving cream. The RazoRock Adjust is a much better razor (in terms of feel and performance) than one would guess from its appearance and price ($10). I mention appearance because to my eye it looks bulky and awkward, but in use it is agile and effective. Really a charming little razor, and at the $10 price definitely worth a try.

Three passes left my face smooth, and I used a splash of Pink After Shave with a couple of squirts of Grooming Dept’s Aion Hydrating Gel Nourishing Balm. (I had meant to pick up the Hydrating Gel, but accidentally took instead the Balm sitting next to it. But it worked fine, and I think I might use it with a splash from time to time — particularly a splash that’s mentholated. (Dr. Jon, I’m looking at you.)

The tea this morning is Murchie’s Keemun Extra Superior, and it does taste good today. “Smooth, incredibly well-rounded flavour with fruity undertones, light briskness, and a sweet finish. The Anhui province of China is home to the original tea gardens. The soil and climate conditions create teas that are naturally lower in caffeine than other fully fermented teas. Keemun teas are known for their complex characters and are often referred to as the “Burgundy of Teas”.”
