Lo Haiku and the 102

A brown badger shaving brush with a metal handle next to a tub of shaving soap whose label shows one hand pulling back a curtain to revel another hand holding a brush that has just written "Lo Haiku" in a Japanese-influenced font. Next to that is a rectangular transparent glass bottle with the same label. In font a DE slant razor lies on its side.

The Plisson European Grey badger brush shown has a pleasantly coarse, grainy feel on the face, and the lather this morning was particularly thick because I extended loading a big. Lo Haiku from Phoenix Artisan is a CK-6, so the lather was also slick and skin-nourishing — and fragrant:

• Top notes: lavender, bergamot, lemon, rosemary, anise
• Middle notes: geranium, fern, carnation, cinnamon, cedar, heliotrope
• Base notes: oakmoss, vanilla, tonka bean, amber, musk

You can read more about this soap in an earlier post.

iKon’s Shavecraft #102 is a marvelous slant, and three easy passes left my face smooth and ready for a splash of the aftershave augmented with a couple of squirts of Grooming Dept’s Aion Hydrating Gel.

The tea this morning is Murchie’s CBC Radio Blend: “Ceylon and China black teas, Jasmine and other green teas with a touch of citrus.”
