Black Beer No. 1 and the great little Game Changer .68-P

A shaving brush with a red base and white handle, its knot very light tan with dark grey tips, stands next to a tub of shaving soap with a brown label and black lid, the two equally wide (or tall). On the label in large white letters is "Black Beer No. 1" and below that in smaller letters "With German Black Beer and Essential Oils From Rosemary and Lemongrass." On the lid a stainless steel DE razor with a ribbed handle lies on its side. Nexxt is a frosted glass bottle with a black cap that holds a brown liquid. The label reads "The Drunken Goat."

The Fine Classic has a very soft synthetic knot, but it was easy to load and the lather this morning seemed especially creamy and slick. Whether that was specifically due to the formulation of Meißner Tremonia’s Black Beer No. 1 or just the usual shave-to-shave variation of technique, I don’t know, but it was withal quite pleasant and noticeable, as was the very present and pleasant fragrance of the soap.

RazoRock’s Game Changer .68-P is a marvelous little razor, and in three passes it removed every trace of roughness from my face. A splash of Mickey Lee Soapworks The Drunken Goat aftershave, and I’m set for the day — quite a sunny day, as it happens.
