A saving brush with a synthetic knot that's divided in 4 sections, 2 white and 2 black, and a green camouflage colored handle stans next to a tub of shaving soap with a black lid and pink label around the side. Printed in large black letters is "Himalayan Heights" and beneath that, in smaller letters, "With Essential Himalayan Cedar Oil and Himalayan Salt." Lying on its side on the black lid is a double-edge razor with a comb guard and stainless steel knurled handle. Next is a small glass bottle with a white plastic pump cap and a dark-gray label with white letters that say "Aion Skincare" and below that "Nourishing Balm."

The soap’s cedar fragrance is present but not forward, and I don’t detect an odor of salt at all, but the salt’s role may not be fragrance. The formula is relatively simple:

Aqua, Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera oil*, Glycerin*, Potassium Hydroxide, Cedrus Deodora oil, Orbignya Oleifera oil*, Sodium Hydroxide, Macadamia terifolia oil, Kaolin, Talc, Citric Acid, Simmondsia chinensis oil*, Maris sal, C.I. 77007. Eugenol

*Organic

All the MT soaps seem to contain some type of clay, here Kaolin. Once again the lather was noticeably dense and slick. I have to say that I do like MT soaps — probably that’s why I have so many. (The series will continue tomorrow.)

My Maggard Razors V2 Open Comb is a fine little razor, here with a Maggard Razors MR-7 handle. Like virtually all that razors I’ve kept in my rotation, the V2OC is both comfortable and efficient, and in three passes it produced a BBS result.

A small squirt of Aion Skincare Nourishing Balm finished the shave and left my skin feeling tiptop.

The coffee this morning is again Fantastico’s El Salvador Maurico Salaverria, but I’m nearing the end of the jar. Today I’m going for a new variety.
