I do like this little Thäter brush. The dome shape of the knot is a good change of pace, and it had no problems developing a fine lather from Rustler’s Ridge, a soap made from Phoenix Artisan’s CK-6 formula.
Top Notes: Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Ozone, Prickly Pear

The razor today is Yaqi’s chrome-finish Flipside — bar guard on one side, comb guard on the other — with a stainless steel RazoRock Haloed UFO handle. The Flipside head is efficient and reasonably comfortable, though some care is required; it’s not so kind as the iKon Shavecraft #101, another bar/comb combo razor.
My new third-pass habit is shaping up. I not only remembered to squeeze all the lather from the knot and apply it by hand to my face, I also remembered to let it rest there while I cleaned the brush. The final pass was then a breeze and left a very smooth result.
A splash of Rustler’s Ridge aftershave/cologne, and I’m ready for the day.
The tea this morning is Murchie’s Library Blend: “This blend of Ceylon, Jasmine, Keemun, and Gunpowder teas has a rich, full base with the sparkle of aromatic Jasmine. “
