The question was raised whether the Standard handle would work with the #102 head, so I ran an experiment.
The Plisson synthetic made a terrific lather from Maggard’s London Barbershop, an exceptionally rich and slick lather. Great stuff, though I have to say I would prefer a tub not so tall as to have the enormous empty space above the soap.
The Standard handle worked, but to me it didn’t feel right. There was something awkward about it. I think the handle of one of the Maggard line of razors would work better. The handle of the $11 Utopia Care razor is excellent, but I believe that razor is out of stock now on Amazon. I use the iKon bulldog handle, which works very well indeed but is somewhat expensive.
Three passes, one inexplicable nick on my chin (sealed now, thanks to My Nik Is Sealed), a bit of Mickey Lee’s Italian Stallion aftershave—great stuff—and the week opens with the rain pouring down.
