Later tonight I will take the 6th edition of Leisureguy’s Guide to Gourmet Shaving: Shaving Made Enjoyable out of production. Copies will no longer be available on Amazon.
By the end of the week, I hope to have in print the new Leisureguy’s Guide to Gourmet Shaving the Double Edge Way, the new title for the 7th edition.
The book is substantially longer: 232 pages in total, including end pages. There are 220 numbered pages, beyond the front matter (title page, dedication page, table of contents). The vendor list is much abbreviated in format, and now sorted by vendor name within country name, with over 150 listed. The URL for each vendor is included.
I think the book is substantially better. I have been hanging fire for a new razor soon to be announced: a new adjustable razor. The only adjustables now available are the three from Merkur (Progress, Futur, and Vision 2000), but of those only the Progress (in my mind) stands out. I soon will test a beta version of this new razor, but I don’t think I can hold the book for it because the final finishing touches can sometimes take weeks.
The Kindle edition is now unpublished and the print edition will be unpublished as soon as I can figure out how to do it. Within a fortnight the new print edition should be available, and within a month a new Kindle edition. (The Kindle edition takes time in order to make the links live.)
I’m pleased with the book. It’s now really quite complete. Hope you like it.
