Very nice shave today. I am finding that the Whipped Dog Mountain Badger brush is very much not to my taste. I like fluffy, resilient brush—a soft knot, so little “backbone” in that sense, but with some resilience to the bristles so that regain their shape when pressure is removed. Dense, scrubby brushes are less appealing to me. The Mountain Badger shown is not at all scrubby, but it also lacks resilience and is more in the direction of being limp, readily squashed but not regaining its shape. I think today’s shave is its last hurrah.
That said, I got a perfectly good lather from Dr. Jon’s Green Monster: Basil, Peppermint and Lime. Then three passes with the Parker 24C and perfect smoothness with no nicks.
A good splash of Floris No. 89 and we approach the weekend.
