A good shave today, though not the most comfortable. I got a very fine lather using my Whipped Dog silvertip (and at $32 shipped, it’s a great bargain: I like the knot set at the standard depth, which results in a softer knot than when it is set more deeply). Mike’s Natural is a very fine soap, and it is one that I find requires small amounts of water to be added during the loading, working in each driblet as it’s added.
I brought out my Fatip, which has a lot of blade feel (like the Blackbird I used yesterday). No nicks, and it’s a good result (though not quite BBS since I was being extra careful). I decided after the shave that it may need a new blade in any case, and that I should try a different brand.
A splash of Fine’s Clean Vetiver finished the job nicely.
