First the fragrance: Lenthéric has, I think, the best fragrance of any shaving soap I’ve used, and this tub is decades old. (I purchased it on eBay as a vintage soap about ten years ago.) It’s a remarkably good soap as well (in terms of lather), and I wish someone would recreate it. Surely the formula was recorded.
The Rooney Style 3 Size 1 is an excellent little silvertip, and it did a fine job. I think Rooney has declined in quality over the years, though: the most recent Rooney I purchased, a few months back, was not so satisfactory, being unusually short-lofted.
The flat-bottomed Tech is extremely nice. I angled the razor so you could see the bottom plate. It is extremely comfortable and, with a sharp blade, extremely efficient. The result was as smooth a finish as I’ve ever gotten, and with zero problems in terms of nicks or burns.
A good splash of Bulgari (or Bvlgari) and the day is launched.
