Exotic Elemi with the WSP Monarch and the Stealth

Today was a test shave, to see whether I’d be happy with just the black aluminum Stealth if I sold the stainless-steel version. I think so, and later today I’ll list the stainless Stealth. I will say that the Stealth is the only slant I thought could be used as a first razor by a DE novice. (I considered the 102 as well, but never went all the way—but I think the Stealth is a real possibility: very comfortable and not inclined to nick. The one caveat that must be emphasized to a novice: use light pressure.)

This morning the soap was Meißner Tremonia’s Exotic Elemi, and I have to say that Elemi really does have an exotic fragrance, unlike my other soaps. And the lather, made this morning with a Wet Shaving Product Monarch brush, was truly excellent:

Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera oil*, Aqua, Potassium Hydroxide, Orbignya Oleifera oil*, Sodium Hydroxide, Macadamia terifolia oil, Glycerin*, Canarium Luzonicum Gray oil, Cananga odorata oil, French Green Clay, Talc, Citric Acid, Simmondsia chinensis oil*, Maris sal, Limonene, Benzyl Benzoate, Eugenol, Geraniol, Linalool.

*Bio – Qualität

A little extra water added during loading, and the lather was superb.

I’m happy with the original aluminum alloy Stealth. It went through a few versions—Joe couldn’t resist tinkering with it—and whatever version I have suits me fine. BBS result in three passes, easily done and with no problems.

A good splash of Leviathan, and the weekend is just over the horizon.
