Mondays are good shaving days for me: a two-day stubble and (usually) a slant razor. Today I prepped using Jlocke98′s formula, which is now my regular prep, and made a really fine lather from QED’s Mocha Java shave stick with the Vie-Long horsehair brush—I really like its chestnut color. Horsehair brushes havea greater color range than boar or badger, plus having a different feel. I think shavers owe it to themselves to try horsehair at some point.
Three passes with the Astra Supeior Platinum blade in iKon’s Slant (which now is available at on-line dealers), followed by a splash of Alt-Innsbruck, which has a touch of menthol.
Altogether a fine and enjoyable shave. I’m driving The Wife to a conference in San Francisco, and I’m of the “Don’t blog while driving” school of thought, so little blogging today. Can you stand it?
