Mühle synthetic, Tallow + Steel Grog, and the iKon 102

This Mühle brush has much the same knot as the Edwin Jagger synthetic, though the knot is a little smaller. Still, it has excellent performance and capacity, and I thoroughly enjoyed both fragrance and consistency of the lather from Grog.

The 102 really is for me in a class by itself, and I had an extremely good and easy shave. However, note that even in razors there is some YMMV, and some have found that the 102 does not work for them. There have been complaints of clogging, but it seems that often the problem is lather that is too dry/thick and/or oil occurs, either shaving oil or a man with an oily beard who does not do the pre-shave beard wash with MR GLO or equivalent.

Three passes, no problem, perfectly smooth result, and a good splash of the Grog aftershave to finish. Tomorrow I’ll return to the Fine aluminum slant with the 102 experience still fresh in my mind.
