Extremely good shave this morning. Pre-shave beard wash with MR GLO, then the doughty Wee Scot worked up a mighty lather from BathhouseSoap.com’s Submariner shaving soap: a refreshing fragrance and excellent lather. Three passes of my Apollo Mikron holding a Gillette Rubie blade and all stubble is gone: BBS. This model of the the Mikron is, I believe, later than my other Mikron. In this one, the tapered handle goes uninterrupted to the baseplate and instead of a dot on the head showing the proper orientation for the settings to work (as with the Progress), this model has two dots at the base of the handle, 180º apart. You can see one dot above the setting of “7,” but the actual setting, which you see when you tighten the head completely and note which dot is over “0,” uses the dot on the other side, the one over the “3″.
A good splash of Krampfert’s Finest Bay Rum, and things are going to go well.
