A wonderful shave this morning. Phoenix Artisan’s Green Ray synthetic brush, which I like a lot, worked up a terrific and wonderfully fragrant lather from Mickey Lee’s Bee Witched, a one-off shaving soap from a few years back (that I think would be a good permanent addition to his line).
Edwin Jagger really did make a big leap forward when they worked with Mühle to design a new head to replace the Merkur 34C-like head they had previously used, and it did a splendid job this morning: three passes to perfection with zero irritation. I particularly like this razor with the fluted black-rubber low-slip handle.
A good splash of Phoenix Artisan’s Planet Java Hive (coffee + honey) aftershave and I’m ready for the day and gearing up for the weekend.
Update: It’s the end of the day, and when I bring my hand to my face, I can still smell the fragrance of the Planet Java Hive aftershave. That’s a damn good aftershave, IMO, in both fragrance and stamina.
