An excellent BBS result today, but first a comment on the lather, which today was made from HowToGrowAMoustache.com’s Cavendish shaving soap. HTGAM soaps, like those from the Strop Shoppe, provide an exceptionally rich and luscious lather for me. Some commercial brands are as good, but these two are notable as artisanal (small-business) soaps. So I am not totally surprised that today’s lather was so good, but I did note that it persisted throughout all three passes with no signs of breakdown. (On Saturday, I’ll return to the Hallows soap, with which the problem of a the new boar brush became evident.)
Three passes of the Standard razor (brand name) with an Astra Superior Platinum blade. I would say that the Standard is the best premium razor that I’ve tried since the debut of the Weber, and IMO the Standard is somewhat superior to the Weber.
A good splash of Alt-Innsbruck, and I am highly pleased with the shave.
