My Mühle Gen 2 synthetic is an extremely good brush, and it easily worked up a great lather from Phoenix Artisan’s Alt-Eleven in the Kokum Butter formula. The Kokum Butter formula costs less than PA’s CK-6 formula (and is not so luxurious), but still is an excellent shaving soap.
With my stubble well-prepped, the Dorco PL602 had no problem in making the rough places smooth again. Three passes did the job easily and comfortably, and then a dot of Star Jelly aftershave in Alt-Eleven fragrance finished the job. This aftershave has just a hint of menthol, which is about as much as I like, and in fact it adds a pleasant note.
The tea this morning is Murchie’s Storm Watcher: “A hearty blend inspired by the rugged west coast of British Columbia – perfect for sipping while safe and snug indoors with a good book in hand.” It’s mainly a winter tea, but its robust flavor is pleasant any time.
