This is the shave I was thinking of yesterday: Pomp and Mr Pomp, together at last. And I have to say that Mr Pomp performed beautifully — with this soap, a bit better than my Rooney Finest.
And I like this soap a great deal. The Donkeymilk formula is extremely good, and this fragrance (“Bourbon whiskey, Dark Rose, Dark Fruits, Dark Woods”) is terrific. Although The Razor Company is sold out of this particular Grooming Dept soap, they do have quite a few others from which to choose, in various Grooming Dept formulae.
This Yaqi double-open-comb razor is extremely good. It’s not expensive, but it’s remarkably comfortable and efficient. Three passes left my face remarkably smooth — and with that Donkeymilk formula lather, remarkably soft. Perhaps that softness results from some of these ingredients (incomplete list):
Lamb Tallow, Duck Fat, Illipe Butter, Castor Oil, Cupuaçu Butter, Glycerin, Donkey Milk, Sodium Lauroyl Oat Amino Acids, Tucuma Butter, Daikon Seed Extract, Camellia Seed Oil, Tamanu Oil, Sacha Inchi Oil, Carnauba Wax, Murumuru butter, Marshmallow Extract, Jojoba Esters, Collagen Peptides, Milk Thistle Extract, Green Tea Extract, Sea Buckthorn Extract, Borage Extract, Chamomile Extract, Silk Amino Acids, Lonicera Japonica Flower Extract, Silk Peptides
Again I used Saint Charles Shave’s Dark Rose EDT, which seems to suit this soap, adding a couple of squirts of Grooming Dept’s Aion Hydrating Gel to make the EDT more suitable as an aftershave.
No tea this morning. Pedialyte instead, to ensure all is in balance. (Health report in next post.)
