A silvertip shaving rush with a while Persian Jar hand and a knot that is tan at the bottom, drak grown in the middle, and cream-colored on top stands next to a tub of shaving soap whose label is a roundel with the outer ring and somewhat reddish blue, the center disk red, and the ring between the center and outer ring being white. "Spitfire Shaving Soap" is printed in black, the the words "Lather Juniper Tobacco" and at the botom, in the white ring, is a silhouette of a British Spitfire WWII fighter plane, viewed from above. Next is a blue glass bottle with a black cap whose label is light tan with an old-timey font that says "Genuine Ogallala Bay Run — Bay Rum & Sandalwood." In front, lying on its side, is a dark grey plastic DE razor with a long handle.

I increasingly like Phoenix & Beau’s shaving soaps, and the Spitfire fragrance is very appealing. My Simpson Persian Jar 2 Super easily made a very fine lather, and again I note the excellent creaminess and consistency I get from the two P&B soaps I have.

The Dorco PL602 is a marvelous razor, in the top rank for feel and performance, even though it is an inexpensive plastic razor. They’re now hard to find, but The Razor Company has a “notify when available” catalog entry. Three totally comfortable passes left my face perfectly smooth.

Ogallala’s Bay Rum & Sandalwood aftershave was a very nice finish, and now I’ll enjoy a cup of good coffee. The weekend begins.
