Tombstone on a cool day

A bleached boar brush with a large knot and an aluminum handle stands next to a pub of shaving soap on its side. The top label has a maroon background on which is centered an antique of photo of a man wearing a hat and moustache. Around the photo is an ornate golden fram. In large white letters beneath the photo and frame appears "Tombstone" and below that in small letters of gold and in an antique font "Arizona Shaving Soap." Next to the tub is a rectangular clear glass bottle with a black cap and the same label except instead of "Arkansas Shaving Soap," it reads "Aftershave & Cologne." In front, lying on its side, is a slant razor with a steel handle whose middle section is a textured blue plastic.
Zenith bleached boar brush and Parker Semi-Slant on Yaqi handle

Tombstone is a CK-6 soap with a very nice fragrance: “Gunpowder, Leather, Tobacco, Geranium, Bergamot, White Rose.” The lather my Zenith bleached boar brush created was exceptional, perhaps because I loaded a bit longer. The brush is breaking in well and the knot is showing more discipline, along the lines of the Omega Pro 48.

The Parker (Semi-)Slant is an excellent slant, but its handle was too long for me, so I use this Yaqi handle instead. Three passes wiped off the stubble easily and comfortably.

A splash of Tombstone Aftershave & Cologne, and the job is done.

The tea this morning is Murchie’s London Afternoon: “Fragrant rose petals are interwoven with smoky Lapsang Souchong, sweetened with creamy vanilla and a touch of bright bergamot.”
