A couple of shaves back, I used Dr. Selby’s 3x Concentrated shaving cream with the Plisson Synthetic, and the lather was not quite what I was accustomed to from this shaving cream: it was somewhat bubbly and not so dense. So wanted to retry Dr. Selby’s with a badger brush, and thus Mr Pomp today.
Yes: much better lather when using the badger brush. I think the problem was the non-absorbency of synthetic fiber: you have to use less water than you would with a natural fiber. The lather today was the easily achieved, thick, dense lather that I’m used to from Dr. Selby’s.
The slant of the ATT is not large, but in any event the razor shaves with the usual delightful precision that is the ATT trademark: perfectly BBS is three smooth passes. The handle is from UFO.
A good splash of Floïd—and I definitely detect a note of cinnamon—and the day is underway.
