Extremely nice shave today. My Rooney Victorian made a fine lather from Wickham’s Garden Mint, a favorite, and the Above the Tie S1 slant left a BBS result—and more important, made for a highly enjoyable shave experience—using a Personna Lab Blue. A little splash (or, rather, multiple sprays into my palm) of Chiseled Face’s Ghost Town Barber—very nice, save I still don’t much care for menthol—and the day got underway.
First stop was DMV: I suddenly realized my license had expired, and to get one through an appointment meant waiting until 2 March. So I went in for the day, taking along my Kindle. The Eames stacking chairs look cool, but they are not so comfortable when you have a four-hour wait.
Still DMV really is efficient—it’s just that, like many state functions, it’s underfunded so that taxes can be artificially low to benefit (primarily) the wealthy. Once I was called, it went very quickly, and now I am licensed to drive. Again.
